See details below if you'd like to get higher quality casters for your own cart! We then pull out a bag, take it down to the laundry room, stand it up next to the washer and load it up.Excellent cart, easy to use, it seems like a high quality item we've used for a few laundry loads (moving clothes from a high-rise to the basement machines, so we put a lot of miles on this thing). We now keep this in our bedroom as our hamper and sort dirty clothes immediately. One other bonus that my wife discovered is that the bags stand up on their own when they're full. Most of the other sorters I've owned just have little metal grommets at each corner which usually rip out over time. Speaking of the hangers, the are very sturdy and slide through three loops of the canvas at the top of the bag (one at each corner and a sizable fold in the middle). This reduces the strain on the top of the bag where the hangers slide through.

The bags are a good size and when placed in the rack, the bottoms sit right on the bottom metal panel.

The locking wheels did have a strong rubbery smell at first but it dissipated after a few days. Once assembled, the frame did not wobble at all. Not this guy! The metal poles that make of the frame are solid and connect to each other with rubber fittings for a tight fit. Most of the previous sorters I've owned all suffer from the same problem shoddy construction. This is the most solidly constructed laundry sorter I've owned. Specs written April 2014 - if they redesign the cart a year or two from now these specs might not work for you! STEM LENGTH 3/4" (the original is 1", so you can safely buy from 3/4" to 1") (could maybe take this down to 100 lbs, but no less. WHEEL WIDTH 15/16" (thinner or wider is okay) 3" (okay make this anything from 2" to 4", bigger is better) If you want to look for other casters yourself, tech specs: WANT TO REPLACE THEIR CHEAP CASTERS WITH NICER ONES? After a lot of measuring and homework, I figured it out myself. I contacted Seville for information about the caster, and the tech guy was polite but extraordinarily unhelpful in that he couldn't give me any details on his own product.

I decided to replace them with slightly softer and lighter high-quality casters. The cart will rattle a LOT on hard floors, which might be tough on the frame. They're hard plastic with a heavy metal frame, only really suitable for soft/squishy floors. The canvas-y totes are WAY sturdier than my cloth grocery bags, and the metal hangars have a hand-friendly size and arc.īig downer: the casters.fit. The wire rack below probably couldn't hold my weight, but it would be a very close call. Thick metal, heavy and sturdy, solid connections. I just wish they had put their name somewhere on the cart! I like the fact that unlike other mfgs, you can buy JUST replacement bags for this sorter, no need to replace the entire sorter when the bags wear out! I also very much like the bottom rack, it will definitely help this thing work for many years. Give or take, depending on how many costume changes you go through in a day. It's also perfectly suited to about two weeks' worth of laundry from two adults. I would never call a laundry cart pretty, but this had the look of a design crafted by someone who gave a damn. Excellent cart, easy to use, it seems like a high quality item we've used for a few laundry loads (moving clothes from a high-rise to the basement machines, so we put a lot of miles on this thing).
